Handwoven cloth carries slight variation in width, weave and colour. That is the hand of the weaver, not a flaw.

Dry clean only. Never machine wash.
Store folded in soft muslin or cotton, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Refold along different lines every few months to keep the silk supple.
Iron on low heat, always with a cotton cloth between the iron and the silk.
Keep perfume and deodorant off the zari and sequins — spray before you drape.

Pitambar — the yellow silk of Krishna, the cloth of Vishnu, the colour reserved in old texts for the divine and the deeply loved. We call her Pitambari, the one who wears it. This striped tissue Banarasi runs gold on gold, bands of warm yellow catching light like ripening wheat, gathering into a pallu rich with traditional zari work. It is a colour that has never needed justification in this part of the world — it is auspicious by nature, celebratory by default. Pitambari does not simply wear yellow. She carries centuries of it.
